I've just, in the last two months, become a total convert and lover of cups and balls. I'm collecting and learning and thoroughly enjoying the whole history, routines and sheer brilliance of the whole thing. So far I've bought a set of the Johnson cups, a Johnson chop cup, a set of Paul Fox mini chrome cups and have on order the SBL tall copper traditionals. I want to have a variety of different sizes and metals.

Can anyone suggest the best standalone chop cup to get? I want one that is heavy and classy. I've got my eye on RNT's Ken Brooke chop cup and their Don Alan chop cup. Any advice?

Ask Mad Jake at RNT2. He probably knows more about chop cups than anybody else.

Drop him an email at the site. I am NOT a chop cup kinda guy. Now when you grow up and start playing with three cups at a time, we can have an adult conversation.

You can't go wrong with the Don Alan cup.

You might want to think of what you will use as a final load, and choose a cup based on that. For example, if you want to load a baseball then go with a Don Alan. If you want your final load to be a racquetball, go with a smaller cup.

You also might want to think of how many people you will be performing for when considering the size of your props.
