At one point, I had about 5 sets of cups and only used one, my Riser standard cups.  The rest sat and collected dust.  When a friend bought the engraved Sherwoods I thought I have to have them, I'll actually use these.  I sold all but the one set I used to help finance the purchase.  I don't regret the decision at all.  Lately however, I have been trolling eBay and the museum and am spending more time looking over various designs and metals.  Today, my 3rd set arrived JES in brass.  Always preferred copper to brass but the price was too good to pass up.

As for what I have my eye on would be the following:
A nice set of wooden cups.
A set of Porpers.
A set of Sherwood smooth coppers
An Alan style chop cup.

I may need to seek professional help.  However, I know most of you guys are addicts too, so I'm preaching to the choir.

I know what you mean.......But just think that as long as this makes you happy you shouldn't worry too much.

Enjoy!

I wonder... Were the SBL Princess cups actually available? Or what this just to mess with Sherwood? I heard on another forum that he was upset that the Princesses were too close to his design for comfort.

Either way, it's a shame because they looked gorgeous. I just couldn't save up quick enough to snag a set, assuming they were really available.

I guess I'll have to settle for my Starbucks mugs.  Undecided

I don't wanna tick anyone off, as I have done business with both Brett and Jake and love the work of both but...... To me the Princess design was also close to the Porper/Stanley design which preceded them both.  This has been confirm by the big guy.  (You all know who I mean.)  Like I said, I have cups by both and have nothing but great things to say about my dealings with them.

Jake answered in another post about the Princess cups and Brett Sherwood's complaint. It looks like they do exist, so I apologize for speculating otherwise. I'll just have to be quicker with my cash next time if I want to own a set for myself.

Except for the equally spaced rings, I see little in common with Porper's CNC cups, which as you mentioned with the "Porper/Stanley" name isn't original to Joe Porper either. It all boils down to cups are cups. Similarities are inevitable.

Like the legend about the Paul Fox cups where a judge thought compared it to a Thermos bottle top.  I know I'll get the details wrong, so I won't tell it.  According to Bill, it isn't true anyway.  I have a tendency to believe him in cases like this.  Maybe he can tell it.
