I do a fair bit of magic for children, and I have always wanted to do the cups and balls for them. To show that wow the cups can be.

So, does anyone have any ideas??

My routine sort of naturally plays to children because it's one of those object not listening you type of routines. The balls keep ending up under the wrong cups over and over, you can do something where maybe you keep putting them away and they inadvertantly come back. My routine was originally meant to make fun of the standard routine and I realized heck, kids may like this if I overdo some of it a little, and it worked great.

When I would do a kids show, I used one cup. In fact, it was a plastic drinking cup. I showed three balls. I forget the exact routine; but I put the balls in my pocket, one at a time, and they're back under the cup. After doing this a couple times, I loaded an apple. After producing the apple, I would take a bite. That always went over pretty good. Nice and simple routine. They can't hold still for anything longer, such as a three cup routine.

Maybe you can use spongeballs (kids like the sponges) and load some clowns noses which you then can hand out as a souvenir?

Just a thought.

There's a good idea. Of course the kids would love to put them on and walk around showing all their friends. Laughing all the while. Makes the parents happy, too.

If you hand out clown noses make sure you do it at the end of the show, otherwise the little bas--- er... tykes won't ever stop trying the things on and whining if they didn't get one.

You got that right. Otherwise, your show is DONE!

It's like producing a rabbit. If you are going to produce a rabbit, do it at the end of your show. Otherwise, the show is over.

BTW, I normally perform a chop cup routine when I do the cups for children.
