RNT2 Baby Don Alan Copper LePetite Chop Cup

I have always liked Chop Cups, so when I got back into magic I started to investigate what was new (at least to me) and what kinds of offerings were out there. Over at The Magic Café I learned of RNT2… I have never heard of a company that has such a following before. After reading so many glowing recommendations, I knew I had to purchase some of their items. So at the beginning of the summer I had some money burning in my pocket ($75.00) and I placed my first order with RNT2. I am so happy I did… what a great company and the quality of their products is like nothing I have ever experienced in magic before.

I chose the Baby Don Alan Copper LePetite Chop Cup as my fist purchase because I wanted a Don Alan style of Cup and I could not afford the large size version at the time. Also I don’t own a Cup that is as small as the LePetite and yes I am compulsive and had money to burn.

What do you get?
The Cup comes complete with a draw string bag, the necessary balls and surprisingly a selection of final loads, a polished ball bearing and miniature plastic fruit. Also included is a sheet of instructions with a great routine. PIC-1

The Cup:
The Cup is copper and polished to a somewhat of what I consider a mirror finish. I rather like it shiny so I keep it polished. PIC2

The Cup stands about 2” tall and its mouth is about 13/4” wide. I should mention the Cup is hallmarked with RNTII within the bottom of the Cup. PIC-3 & PIC-4

Use:
The Cup is a perfect size to carry in your pocket. It is quite hefty for its size, it just feels right. I also own a small Chop Cup from Morrissey made from aluminum, I have never liked its feel. The LePetite’s gimmick is the best I have ever seen, it is completely invisible.

The included routine is somewhat standard fare... the ball disappears and reappears with a twist. There is a color change of the ball and the final load of a very heavy ball bearing. I have yet to use the plastic fruit for a final load. PIC-5

Conclusion:
Again the RNT2 Baby Don Alan Copper LePetite Chop Cup is another RNT2 item that I would highly recommend. Do they have a stinker of an item? For me it is the perfect Cup to just carry around in my sports coat pocket. I still plan to get a full size Don Alan Cup sometime soon.

That is a nice set Bruce.
I love the mini fruit loads too.

I have 3 Le Petite chop cups but I don't have the mini fruit  Embarrassed

Great pics, I love looking at other people's cups.

Tom,
You probably know this… what is the pecking order of all the small Chop Cups from RNT2? There are the Baby, the Mini, the Alter Ego and such. Are there stories behind each?
Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce,

I think it goes, from biggest to smallest:

Big Don
Don Alan 50th Anniversary
Little Don
Alter Ego
Le Petite

I think!

Maybe Jake will see this and chime in, I hope so anyway.

Hey All,

It was kind of a busy weekend but I found some time to complete a project I started a couple of warm months ago. Below are pictures of a display box I made for the Brass and Copper Baby Don Chop Cups.

Take care,
Bruce

Bruce, the cups and the box looks great. I love that aged look that you always manage to give to the boxes.

Craftsman, that's the word.

I'm lucky if I can find a cardboard box for my stuff.

Mike & Tom,
Thanks… I enjoy making them. I also made a super mondo (big-ass) close-up stage. I will also post pictures of it. I make these boxes for the Magic Room I hope to have.

Best wishes,
Bruce

Yeah, me too. I'm looking into making a table for the Gazzo Routine.

Tom,
Below are pictures of the Mondo Close-up Stage… it is big enough to spread cards on and stable for practicing on the bed.

Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce, that looks great! What are the dimensions on it?

I see those nice little Brass Foxy II's you show off! Wink They're beautiful. Did they need polishing?

Mike… it is big and heavy; 17” by 26” a good working surface. When it finely gets warm and I can stand to be in the garage, I want to build a close-up stage that is more like a small podium or raised platform. I want to construct a servante (spelling) that can silently drop behind the table and then retract when I want it to.

No I did not polish the Foxy 2's yet: that is how they came from James. He takes real good care of his Cups.

Best wishes,
Bruce
