I play with big cups

What are some good routines that end with (a) solid cup(s)? I mean cups that have not been "gutted," they are a solid piece of metal with no bottom opening. Thanks! Smiley

The only one cup routine I do is Greg Wilson's Kiss-off. It was the first cup routine I ever did in public and it's a solid cup finale. I bought it many years ago and I still do it from time to time. For anyone unfamiliar with it, it's an empty Hershey Syrup can with a Hershey kiss under it that keeps appearing under the can when put away. Then 2 jumbo Hershey kisses appear from under it and finally the can is not only revealed to have never been opened but you can still hear the syrup shaking around inside. It was a fun routine to do.

Isn’t there a Paul Harris routine similar to that called Beanie Weenie? I have never seen anyone perform it.

Eddie do you still perform Kiss-Off? What other routines do you do?

Take care,
Bruce

Yes, it's based on Paul Harris' routine. The whole thing was marketted years ago and it came with a video, and everything you needed for the routine. I still do it every once in a while, if I'm doing an event that would flourish more from a candy routine.

Other than that I do a neat little 2 cup routine. Still working on a 3 cup routine (for way too many months now)... it's going to be AWESOME!

Eddie,

I will have to check out Kiss-Off, I was gone for a while and returned to magic this year. I am finding there is much that I have missed… good and bad.

I have always done a Chop Cup Routine and have been working on the Vernon routine; if you have any pointers or suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Best of luck working on the 3 Cup routine,
Bruce

Kiss-Off was discontinued because Hersheys stopped making canned syrup. You'd have to find it used or perhaps on Ebay. Or you could just create your own version using Paul Harris' routine. The only thing with this routine is that it's very quick, if you do it straight through patterless it's maybe a minute in length. Great fun nonetheless, and you can give out kisses  at the end.

Best advice I can give you for any routine is to do it over and over and over. I have a pretty decent 2 cup routine with excellent flow and it only flows so well because I've gotten to perform it publicy over 30 times a week for the last year and a half. It's very much second nature and even when I mess something up (like the ball slipping when I've got it in classic) I can easily recover because I've become so familiar with all the necessary steps.

Thanks, I've been working on the 3 cup routine for what seems like forever now. I think I've made a fair bit of progress so maybe I'll have it in another month or two.
