If you are like me, you never get tired of looking at Cups. Below are several Chop Cups I just acquired. They are 1- Tim Star Aluminum Cup 2- Tannen Aluminum with their double rabbit logo stamped on the bottom (or top) 3- RNT2 SBL Strolling Cup Heavy Copper 4- RNT2 Don Alan Stubby  with bronze liner.

BCS. this is very off- topic, but where did you get that Houdini poster/ canvas? It looks like a Penguin Magic one, but I don't see it one their site.

I love that bronze lined cup.
Does RNT2 still produce these? I'm going to check right now.

Ketchup,

Thanks for noticing the poster… if memory serves me right, I purchased it in the mid 90’s from Micky Hades or Norm Nielsen (links below). It was a limited edition print, not on canvas but on peach paper, whatever that is. It really looks like an old original poster, unlike some of the posters available today.

I still have many poster reprints in storage in the garage; my wife said that I can only hang up so many posters or our house would look like a magic shop (I see nothing wrong with that). . If you like posters, try to find a copy of a book called “100 Years of Magic Posters.” It is fun to look at all the old posters and read about the magicians.

Take care,
Bruce

DD,

Besides looking cool it has a great feel to it. As far as I know RNT2 no longer is making it at the moment. When I spoke to Jake (and he is doing better) today, he told me that we might see some new Don Alan Cups being offered. When who knows, they are very busy.

My favorite Chop Cup (so far) is the SBL Strolling Chop Cup, you should check out my review of it.

Thanks,
Bruce

Ketchup,
I've used the full size Don Alan chop cups before, they are good, big cups. It's been a while since I held one in my hand (I used to demo them in a magic shop), but I think they are big enough for a softball.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I ordered one of the Silver/Gold cups from Jake about 10 days ago - All I wanted was a La Petite Don in Silver/Gold and figuring that it's a special order and all, I promised him I'd buy the full size one too if he made one, and ended up with him selling me one in each size in Silver/Gold. It's excessive, but Jake gave me a fair price for all three and threw in a custom display case for them with an personalized engraved plate. I haven't seen the finished product yet.
He said he's only made 3 of the La Petite Don Alan cups in Silver/Gold - and I'm getting #3 - it went to the plater last Monday.
When it arrives I'll put some pictures up.
The Gold inside is not a wash, it's plated and that's what jacks the price up.
I've got MagPie syndrome - attraction to shiny objects.
But if you want one - buy it now before it's gone. Who knows if you will ever see these again? If Jake sells the manufacturing rights to someone, perhaps...

I know this is heresy to say out loud, but in many ways I like the Chop Cup better the a standard set of Cups (don’t hate me).

Thanks,

Bruce, that's fine! What you like is what you like, and we can't hate you for that. I'd like to hear some of your views on the chop cup if you don't mind. Also, what routine do you use with yours because I just getting into the "chop" side of cups and balls and know that RnT2 has a few different Chop cup routines. Thanks.

I really like this forum because it is so laid back. It really just feels like we're kickin' back at a convention and just talking about cups, theories, routines, magic, life, anything. Thanks Sean Wink

I must join Bruce in saying that I prefer a chop cup routine to a multi cup routine.
