I found this in an ebay auction that ends on December 7th, so you have time to look at them. Here is the link:

Perhaps one of our resident historians is familiar with these cups? I've never heard of them. They look exotic.
The seller's description states: "THIS SET IS FROM TAYADE JR. OF INDIA , ALL THREE WOOD TURNED CUPS AND THE MATCHING WAND ARE HAND PAINTED."

Yes they are beautiful!

I couldn’t tell you anything about them, but I remember seeing them at The Cups & Balls Museum http://www.cupsandballsmuseum.org/index.htm . You should sign up for a password, if you don’t have one. There are many beautiful Cups there.

Thanks,

They certainly look like Tayade cups.
Very nice indeed.

Thanks guys. I did not know that Tayade cups were still being produced, I've never heard of them. I thought these might have been vintage or something (I can imagine Ross Bertram doing his Egyptian routine with these.)
Palmer's Cups and Balls Museum has a lot of the Tayade Indian Cups and Balls and this is apparently a Western Style set.
Gotta tell ya how much I enjoyed browsing through the Cups and Balls Museum last night! Amazing!

Contemplates painting a set of his own cups... just one of the cheap ones.

The Tayade cups, all of them, are basically works of art. Tayade, Sr. did much finer designs on hiis cups than Tayade, Jr. does. I don't think this is a matter of skill or ability, though. I think Tayade, Jr. wants his cups to look a little different.

There are four basic styles. There are the Indian cups with the flat knobs, the Indian cups with the rounded knobs, the Western cups, and the Tall English cups. The Tall English cups are fairly rare. The rarest are the knobbed Indian cups with silver filigree paint and red highlights.
