I hate beaded cups but I have to admit these have a great look to them, especially with the new saddle. Check'em out folks!

Yeah, I like these cups but alas no more money.

The only thing bothering me was this:
Quote
these are very limited and will not be sold to everyone

If this is the exact same idea as the idea that Mr.Riser had a few years ago, then I am very dissapointed. Who the h*ll is a magic dealer that decides who can buy his stuff. If I want to spend my hard earnt cash on his cups then let me and don't say "sorry, you have no meaning in the magic industrie, I won't sell you anything?"

Sorry for the rant, but this concept of selling items has bothered me far to long. And when I saw those words on the RNT2 website, I went crazy. Who are they to decide who gets a set and who not?

Yeah, seriously. They still seem inferior to the Brett Sherwood cups anyway, and he isn't picky.

I think maybe the offensive phrasing is just a poor selection of words for the description of the limited edition. It does state further down the description that this is a limited run of 25 sets and sold on a "first come first serve basis". I would take that to mean that if ANYONE was among the first 25 to order a set that they would get one, regardless of who that person was. It doesn't make sense that the vendor would first "qualify" the buyer. But it does make sense that the expression of "will not be sold to everyone" simply means that these are not a mass production item, like MM cups, and if YOU have a set, then YOU have a rare set of cups, unlike what EVERYONE else has.
I am aware though of magic manufacturers who won't sell to certain individuals, and it's because the "certain individuals" have ripped them off, or bad-mouthed them in the community. But, in all forms of business, it's common for a retailer to throw a problem customer out of the store and tell them they are no longer welcome.
No good retailer really WANTS to black-ball a customer (or turn a customer away) and it should be a last resort, but that is just my opinion.

DDecae,

Probably your right. Poor selection of words.

I have to disagree, I think these are pretty ugly.  That saddle doesn't look right on there at all.  It is the Don Alan saddle and it looks to me like they just chopped the top off of one cup, the bottom off of another and soldered them together.  If you are designing a cup, it should be designed from the ground up.  If you use this "Frankenstein" method, it can ruin the aesthetic of the whole product.  Besides, if they are closing their doors soon, why on earth would they keep working on this product?  Especially when they are so backlogged and have a bunch of unhappy people who are waiting months for products?

I have no problem with a magic dealer selling to a select clientele, but if they choose to, they shouldn't advertise that.  No need to rub people's noses in what they can't have.  Just maintain a select customer list and contact them privately.  Some people do this and I like it.

On a happier note, this weekend I received my Paul Fox cups from RNT2.  Really really beautiful cups that handle nicely.  They will take a little getting used to because they are much smaller than the Sherwoods that I normally use.  I really believe these will become my restaurant cups, my copper Sherwoods for formal close up where there would be more than 3 or 4 people watching, and my silver engraved will be reserved for when my gigs at Buckingham Palace. Pepka,

I think that RNT2 continued with the SBL Princess Cups because they already invested into the tooling before all the stuff went down. Also I think that they care about their customers that have been waiting for them and just want to get them made.

It is great to hear that your Cups made it…  I am still waiting for mine; a late Christmas is always good.

Give my regards to the Queen,

I don't think there ugly, I think that the saddle looks much beter on Chop Cup instead of a normal set of cups.

For what its worth I hate the look of them. Over fussy and confussed looking. What is the point of the detailing on the top dent. I also hate the rings. I do not like them on the sherwoods either.  The spaces between the rings make the cups look odd. I showed a set of sherwoods to a friend and he said it looked like six cups when stacked and that made him think they were gimicked in someway. I know most people will not agree with me.
Sherwoods are better than these though by a long way. These really are gross to look at

Eddie, what kind of cups do you like if you hate beaded cups?
Do you like the House of Magic cups? http://www.houseofmagic.com/page2/page5/page13/page13.html
Or a Monti cup? http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=145
Or a Jester style? http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=504

none of the above, those all have mouth and shoulder beads. I like cups in the style of the old Ravels. RnT2 has a set called the classic style cups

http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=112

I have a couple of these and have been waiting for 3 custom sets of these for 9 months now. Last I heard they were at the platers but no one has bothered responding to any of my Emails so I'm not hopeful.
