Got a question for the tennis pros.....What do the numbers mean on a tennis ball? I have some Wilson balls that say "Wilson 2" or "Wilson 4" on them. They look and feel the same. Any idea? Nothing different on the cans they came in. Some guys on CupsCon have a 3 on theirs!  Huh?

Both kinds fit in my Risers, so it really doesn't matter.  Grin

I am not sure about this, but I think it has to do with the wight & pressure of the ball.

I hope this helps.

Till next time,

From what I can gather, there are three types of each ball. Clay court, hard court, and high altitude. That could explain no's 1, 2, and 3.

The numbers are simply there so that you can tell whose ball it is in case it bounces off into a court adjacent to you.

Thanks, Gents!

Those all sound like good reasons, and I'll bet they are all correct.

Tom, if they all fit, they're all correct. Wink
