Foxy II.V

Two and a half month after placing my order of the Foxy II.V cups they arrived at my door. When they were unpacked these would be my new set of favorite cups. Nothing can steer me away from my beloved Squatty 2 cups but the Foxy cups bring something more. After playing with them I instantly fell in love. These are true workhorses and they will do anything for you.

You will receive 3 spun copper cups and a bag. The bag is not of the highest quality, just a simple bag to transport the cups or to store them safely. At the time I placed the order I also ordered the 1” SBL red/gold working balls.

Each cups stands 7.1 cm (2.83”) high.

Total stack heigh about 13.8 cm (5.5”) high.
Pic 2 - http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp136/Floyd_78/HPIM2656.jpg

ID of the cup 7.0 cm (2.75”).
Pic 3 - http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp136/Floyd_78/HPIM2658.jpg

Seeing that the ID is 2.75” , these will take a tennisball as a final load. Awesome, if you put the tennisball on top of the cup you get the perfect deception.

The load truly looks if it never should possible fit inside the cup. I never really saw this with any of the cups I had, but this just blew me away. Excellent craftmanship.

You can use the Fab Fruit or the Mike Roger's baseballs, it looks great but it isn't as strong of a deception as a tennisball.

Some comparison pics.

The saddle has enough room for 1” balls, you can stack the cups with 3 balls on the saddle without any trouble.

The set of working balls look wonderfull, although they don't have a thight crochet. These will work great with the Foxy cups. I haven't had a chance to try out the ball for the chop cup, so I don't know how they will act or how easy it is to adjust the ball.

I know that there are people waiting on their Foxy cups or already have them, please do make some comments or just make an adition to this review.

Enjoy.

Etienne…. A great review, you made my mouth water more in anticipation for the day when my set finally arrive. For now all your pictures will help me cope (but only so much). Epiphany said that it should be soon.

So have you decided on a favorite Cup  yet? I know that it is hard to do so.

Thanks so much,
Bruce

Bruce,

Thank you for the kind words. I do hope that your cups will come swiftly. A favorite cup........tough one. The Squatty's will be it.....no, the street cups...yes...... . .no wait, the animal cups..definatly.......darn it. I don't know, don't ask such a difficult question. At the moment I have to say the Foxy II.V.

Ah, the problem is the grass always tastes greener on the other side...  It's other people's cup that always look the best!

Bri... very true, however the copper makes our hands smell all the same. I don't know why I said that or what it really means.

Bruce, it must be the after effects of the copper seeping into the skin!

Actually, that gives me a great idea... CouldI get away with buying the Mrs a set of copper Sherwoods for xmas and telling her isis "Alternative therapy?"

See, you can already buy copper bangles which are reckoned to cure all manner of ill's by taking copper into the skin... so therefore practicingwith them would be preventative medicine...

On second thoughts if I did I think I would be the one who would need medicine...  Scrap that..

Tom, I agree. Shapewise this is the best cup I have seen. I looks awesome.

When I am ready to perform it's either the Foxy or the Shibby street cup.

I have finally had a chance to really play with the my Foxy 2.5 Cups since their arrival. All in all they are a pretty neat Cup… I still marvel at how deceptive they are concealing a tennis ball. I have been using 7/8th” balls with them, I think this also adds to the illusion of the tennis ball looking larger in comparison. All in all a great set of Cups, however if I were to fault them, I would say they feel a little light. I guess I am heavy handed.

The more I play with them the more I am attracted to them. Are they my favorite Cup… I don’t know. I am still leaning towards the Squatty 2 Cups, maybe because of all the time I have spent with them as of late.

Take care,
Bruce

Well, I am awaiting my set as I type, however there is a review on my site, here's the link:
http://www.cupsandballsmagic.com/Foxy-2.5's.html

I ordered the satin finish, I would also be interested in anyone who actually bought a set of the mega thicks as I have not managed to track anyone down yet.  Did they ever get to production?  I'd certainly love a set!
