I took delivery of this beauty recently and thought you might like to know about it.

It's beautifully weighted and in 6 sections.  Perfectly spun and perfectly smooth.  The action is as good asyou can get.  It holds well and dislodges as needed without any pointless banging and slamming!

The woods it is made from are: Wenge for the base, rim, and lip.
The bottom layer is Paduk (redish), mid layer is Zebra Wood, and the top layer is Lacewood.

I give it a positive 5 out of 5.  There are some hi res pics here:

Nice looking cup, Bri. Eric Hansen makes some nice looking equipment. Some guys are craftsmen, aren't they?

Have fun with it!

Hey Tom…. When you get into the Chop Cup, do seriously consider Eric’s Chop Cups. They are an incredible value for the dollar. I don’t know how he can afford to sell them so inexpensively.

Bri… What a beautiful Cup it is.

Take care,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce Smiley  I love it.  I agree with you too, I think Eric should reconsider his prices, especially considering the lengths he goes to selecting and tracking down the correct woods....

I'll consider it, Bruce. The one I have now looks like  Steamer
Of course my paint job didn't help any.

Bri,

Thanks for the video! My computer isn't too good for watching videos. The computer at work is better, so I'll be checking it out again Monday, when I'm goofing off. It looks like you had real good control over the gaffed ball, just like you said in your review. I like the tennis ball final load, too.

Thanks again,

Tom

Hey Bri… I believe that a video review has some promise. I enjoyed seeing the Cup from all angels and hearing your comments.

Thanks,
Bruce

I just send an email to Eric expressing what I am looking for in a wooden chop cup and what it should cost then. I am seriously thinking about getting a cup from Eric. On every board his work is highly praised. Just have to wait and see.

You wont regret it Etienne, I can honestly say that if Eric charged 3 times what he does people would be happy with their purchase.

I have to agree with Bri…. I don’t know how Eric can afford to sell the Cups for what he asking.

Another thing that many people are not aware of is the time and trouble Eric goes to when sourcing the wood...

Helicopter, Boat, Snowmobile, On foot with snow shoes....

Eric's work screams "soul" out at you and I think this has a lot to do with it...
