I just put up a review of the Pascaline Danis Final Load Balls from Jeremy. http://www.cupsandballsmagic.com/Pascaline-Danis-Load-Balls.html It's interesting to note that they are painted underneath to help blend in with the crochet.  I've not seen this before but it seems like a good common sense idea...

Anyhow...   I thought a poll on favourite ball core material might be in order.  I will state for the record that I prefer wood, it can be washed, I like the weight (for wand spin and they don't bounce) and for final loads they can be "smacked" together to showthey are not sponge.

I will have admit that I actually don't know what type of core materials the balls consist of. Most of them are fairly light so I will have to guess that most of them are made out of wood or cork. Once, for the fun off it I tried to use some steel ball bearings. But that didn't work as I thought it would.

I voted for wood but I'm only familiar with wood and cork. Cork is kind of light, but it's OK. Sometimes lighter would be better. I'd like to try the mouse balls some day. I'm sure they're heavy.

I don't really have a favorite. Different materials work better under different circumstances.
