These should be ready for shipping by Thanksgiving.
The Standard Foxy 3 Cups will be the same Foxy 2.5 tooling but WILL BE heavy .064 gauge ONLY.

Foxy 3 Combo Cups in Heavy .064 gauge copper, 1/2 pound per cup.
I think they might be a little too heavy. I'm about to spin these in .050 and see if they don't come out better. (The Mendozas are .050 gauge, but the combo gaff increases their weight.)
I'm undecided at this point, I thought the heavier gauge would great, but they are really heavy...

Don, they certainly look nice! I've never handled cups that heavy, so I don't now if they're too heavy or not. But, I'll tell you, I've knocked over light cups with my sleeve before. What a mess! All the adults see what was hidden under the cups, and all the kids are diving under the table to grab the errant balls! "Please give the little red ball back to me, you little darling." Heavy cups are a great idea for outdoor work. They seem to stay put if your table gets bumped a little. A wide mouth helps, too.

The weight of a set of cups would be a hard thing to test. You could use light ones a million times, and nothing happens; no accidents. Of course, picking up a cup and palming at the same time could pump up your biceps.

Anyhow, they look great!

Don,

They look very nice. I know I have always wanted a combo set of my Foxy 2.5. Jake had talked about them a good amount of time ago.

It is good the see them come to life.

Till next time,
Sean

Don,

They look wonderfull. I wish I had a cupfund.

I like heavier cups. The street cups I have feel excellent, for me it's the heavier the cup the better they are.

Thanks for the eye candy.

Thinking about the Don, I think you've worked wonders, I'm amazed you could squeeze a gaff in there given the 2.5 tollerances...

Ah, Bri now you're fishing for inside trade secrets... but I am immune to your flattery.  Wink
Let me finish getting them produced, there are still some decisions to make this week. Then I'll tell you how it is done.
You CupsCon guys are a smart crowd - very knowledgeable on C&B - and the secrets behind the Foxy 3 won't be kept for long once they are on the market.

Don,

ever thought about starting a program similar as James Riser does? Helping the strugling magician? If so, I would like to be first in line if you offer a set of these. Grin

OK, I've made a decision on the Foxy 3 cups and you guys helped sway me.
I'm going to produce the Foxy 3 straight set of cups in .064 copper so they are about 1.5 ounces heavier than than the Foxy 2.5 and I'm going to produce the Foxy 3 Combo Cups in .064 copper which brings the cup weight up to over 8 ounces per cup (half a pound each). I did spin a set of combos in .050 and they feel really good and weight exactly the same as the as the .064 straight set, but I just like the heft of the heavier cups. You guys all said the same thing so it is just the right thing to do!
Bri, entirely new tooling had to be made to get a gaff in the cup and still accommodate a tennis ball. You are right, Jake make the 2.5 with such tight tolerances that it just impossible to use the same tooling for a combo cup. There is a downside to this: the Foxy 3 has a slightly larger outside diameter - the gauge of the copper is thicker and the Combo cups are of course slightly enlarged to accommodate the gaff, so the illusion of the ball being too big for the cup is a little compromised. Honestly I never thought it was all that powerful in the first place and the trade off is worth it.
Bruce, I have always wanted to hallmark the cups, but I don't have access to a laser engraver and every metal stamping attempt I have made just dented the cup! It's harder than I thought to do this and I've given up on it untill I can find a company that can do laser engraving for me at a reasonable price.
Etienne, I'm not familiar with Riser's program but I'll look into it.
Have a great weekend,
Donnie
