It seems to me that I can get some of the craziest ideas when I am not even thinking about magic. Sometimes the magic finds me. It was not that long ago, I posted on here about doing Cups at a bar using empty jello shot cups and gum rappers. It was just one of those things that popped into my head, and I had a great time doing it for a people at the bar.

You see I have that problem. I seem to find a idea when I am not trying to think about it. The worst times is when I am trying to fall a sleep, and when that happens all I can do is give up on trying to sleep. I have to let myself play with the idea or it will keep me up all night long.

Well at breakfast this morning, when the waitress dropped off the coffee and set down the bowl of creamer packs. A few of them fell out and on to the table. That's when it hit me. The little cream packs are cups. So, after I put the cream in my coffee. I started playing with the little plastic cup. Well after my next cup of coffee, I had a set to play with.

It was at that point when I was hit with my idea.

I am doing a show at RISM (Rhode Island Society of Magicians) next month. My local magic club.

Well everyone knows that I am going to do Cups, but I have not finished with "My Routine" I am just not happy with it. On the side I have been working on a tribute routine. I little mix of the great's routines. Well, I wanted to do a hat load, but I don't want to do a melon. That is where my crazy idea comes in...

What if the Hat Load was a Cup? under a cup.... under a cup..... under a cup?? 

So, now I am just buzzing with this nutty idea. I may have to go back and look at the pace of the routine. (I do not what to do a Ricky Jay type routine.) It is more about my journey into the would of Cups.

I am still playing with the idea of music in part of it, and maybe photos or the voices of people like Vernon, Mike, Gazzo, and so one. The only thing is I am not trying to go too far over the top. At the same time I want to put some drama to it.

So, what do you think?

• Music?? Then what would work best?
• Photos?? How to display them?
• Voices?? Is it problem if I use a recording from a video?

(If I post a copy of this routine on the web. Would I be wrong for using their likeness without permission?)

OK, I may be over thinking this, but this how I think things out.
