Hello, this is my first post here, I have looked in at this forum from time to time, but have yet to post. I was looking at a video I made of my routine today, and decided to put it on youtube and get some feed back.

Allocern's Balls...and Cupspowered by Aeva

You may have seen an early version of this routine on youtube, but this is my trimmed down set. I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks

Welcome Allocern.

I have to agree with Dave, I also liked it. I especially liked the penetration when the cups are in the display stack and you see the ball penetrate the cup.
Really nice.

A… Welcome to CupsCon and for posting your video.

I can tell that you have been putting a lot of effort into your routine, you look very professional and your moves were great. The only criticism that I had is your presentation did not do it for me, I can see with the right crowd how it would work… I am somewhat prudish and found it kind of cheeky. That being said, I know you can fine tune it.

Again thanks for posting your work, good job!

I'd agree with Bruce.  I had to watch it with the sound off.  While I am no prude by any means, tesitcle jokes with the cups and balls just don't do it for me.  The odd one you can get used to but it was laced with them.  However, that's just my personal opinion.

I enjoyed a couple of special touches, the visible penetration in particular and I seem to recall that this routine has been shortened a lot since I last saw it on youtube (a lot less repitition) which seemed to tighten the routine a lot.

One point, while you have goneto a lot of trouble to co-ordinate your wardrobe and props, at times, from a few feet away I am guessing there might be a risk of losing a red ball when on top of a cup because of your red shirt and tie.

Not to nit pick, but Bri made a good observation, I too think a color other then red might look better against your shirt and tie combo… more and more I am favoring white colored balls.

Again your skill shows and your set of Cups look great.

Thanks for the feedback thus far! I have worried about the color combination myself. I actually just had a set of striped balls made, they are black and red however, so again color problems, pretty much everything I use is black and red, I might try white balls or maybe some blue ones, ah another testicle joke!

This act is slightly vulgar on purpose, in fact this version is just a shade cleaner then I have preformed it in the past. I like to perform in houses of ill repute, and usually this goes over well. I don't make any money doing magic, it's just for fun. I don't know if I would consider doing a kids show, or a church event these days, but I don't think I would use this patter if I did! Smiley

Also I was wondering if any of you have seen the one cup cover penetration that I do, before? I discovered it on my own, but dose anyone know another routine that uses it?

Thanks for the opinions.

A… As I said with the right crowd; in the context of where you perform it all makes sense.

If it is kind of dark where you perform, the white balls will defiantly show up better.

I can’t say that I have seen the one Cup penetration before… I thought your work was pretty good. Bill Palmer or Pete Biro could probably comment as to the move, they hang around www.themagiccafe.com , though Bill does check in here from time. Bri is pretty learned, maybe he could chime in.

Allocern,

Your presentation had me chuckling. Like all performances, you have to use the right presentation with the particular audience in front of you. I'd say that was a "night club" performance. I liked your red shirt and red tie with a black jacket. Looks sharp! I like to see a performer dressed nice. Wearing a tie is nice. The red and black final load seemed coordinated with your clothes.

I also liked where you had the cups in the "display stack" and we saw the ball penetrate the cup.

Bruce made a good point, white balls would probably pop-out more than the red balls. I didn't found the patter disturbing, after a year on cupscon hearing you guys talk about balls I am getting used to it. Grin

I haven't seen the one cup penetration before, perhaps some kind of enlightment in the secret sessions would clarify this. Cheesy

That is one of the best performances of the cups and balls I have ever seen. You fooled me so many times!! You did a wonderful job and your hours of dedicated practice have paid off. I learned something from every turn in the routine. One portion made me think you are using a chopped cup(s). Brilliant work!!!!
