Whew! The heat rages on over there, heh? Little did I know my original intention to show The Cafe members my new toys would flare up into a heated discussion of how Brett's wares are either engraved, embossed, rolled, pressed, or chased. Whatever the process is, is up for conjecture because only Brett knows for sure.

But what I do know for sure is that I am really happy with my purchase and I consider myself very lucky to own them in today's economy. Amen to that and thanx for your comments guys...onward!

Respectfully,

Dom… Just wait until they find out over at TMC that part of the process to making the Cups is having them blessed by a priest… then the argument will rage… were they blessed in English or Latin.

Again you have great Cups and enjoy them for us that don’t have a set. My vote is to let them grow a patina. If I had a set I would let them turn so they get all dark within all the engravings and them lightly polish all the smooth parts so the engraining stand out (I hope that makes sense).

Dang Bruce, you should be a mind reader! I thought of the same thing...I have some copper pennies (English) that I gave the same treatment to...
Thanx again!

Dom… I am not the mind reader here… that’s Bri; let’s just say you and I have good taste. I can’t wait to see the Cups a year from now; I bet they will be sweet.

Congrats on your cups Dom!

As I stated in the thread at TMC, how the cups are made is of little consequence to me. They are absolutely gorgeous and Brett's work is of the highest quality. 'Nuff said!

Oh, and I agree with Bruce, let those babies patina.

(Sorry Donnie, I know you like'm shiny!)

I gotta admit Doug, the photos that were posted of those cups with the patina were just dramatic and gorgeous.
I do love the luster and gleam of polished copper though...

Here's an update: Brett shipped out my cups sans the bag (he was out of stock and opted to send the bag later instead of delaying my order any longer) on the 18th of this month...

It's been a long week and he said it would take 7-10 days to reach me. Still waiting patiently... with luck maybe it'll be here today.  Undecided

Hey guys I finally received the bag last week...Brett had some bad travelling misfortunes (Remember, the volcano in Iceland shut down flights in Europe)and other pesky, unforeseen events (his bag suppliier quit).

I really like the bag...it adds alot of class to an already classy product IMHO. Brett is the man!!

Dom… Glad to hear that your Sherwood bag arrived and that all is complete. Sherwood seems like a good guy and does what he needs to to keep his customers happy.

Now that you have had the cups for a while, do you keep them shiny or not?

I've become lazy & complacent in my old age...they have patinized to a rich brown color, but I did use some Renaisance polish for protection...   Smiley  Cheesy  Roll Eyes  Shocked
