I have just taken delivery of a set of Cocobolo cups and matching wand made by Joe
Porper.  Aside from very nice single chop cups and a nasty little set of cups made in India, these are the first decent set of wood cups I have gotten my grubby little paws on and they are very nicely made.

Obviously wooden cups handle very differently to metal ones and they have certain restrictions and limitations but I really like these and the wand is beautiful.

I used to have a set of Teak cups complete with a fourth solid wood cup(no, it didn't come apart), but I sold them. They used to be sold by Stevens Magic Emporium but I have no idea who the maker was.

They sound quiet nice Dave...  I'd like a set of wooden cups with copper "trims" on the mouth and shoulder beads...  I bet those would be nice...

Bri… those are beautiful Cups, wand and box, your collection is growing and is first rate. I have never used wooden Cups before; your review was insightful.

Excellent cups Bri,

I have a set on my shortlist, well not the wooden ones but in copper. I always thought that wooden cups might be flimsy, that's why I don't have a single wooden set.

I know what you mean.  These are my first set of decent wooden cups but I do have a fair few wooden chop cups which are very sturdy and hold up beautifully.

I think it's when they have to be stacked and the walls need to be thinner that could cause concern.  The Porper cups are not going to worry me with that though...
