Yup I'm sad to report I  just dropped one of my cups  Cry. It was a Mad Jake, I will show you pictures tomorrow. I'm get a brand new camera, so I can show the details. The cups were stacked all nice and neat when I bumped the table, and off it went. It hit the leg of my tripod table, metal on metal. I was afraid to look at it after hearing the crash. To my surprise it wasn't that bad, just a little dent near the top. So how many of you have drop your cups.

Shocked A year ago or more I  dropped my RnT2 Mini Don Alan Chop Cup not once but twice...the mouth sustained two dents that severely disfigured it. I brought it into work and used some tools to straighten out the dents and restore it back to normal thank God. I have yet to drop anything else...(the sound of knocking on wood!).

Cupsamagically,

Ahhh no! Sorry to hear that Jeremy.  Is it a dent or a "nick" out of he metal.  An instrument repair shop could sort out a dent for you...

After I cleaned the cups and did some inspecting, to me I don't feel like its so bad, you can see for yourself. Its more like a "nick"  then a dent. I will let them form a nice patina so the mark will disappear. I'm not too worried about it. See what happens when you let amateurs like Gazzo handles my cups.

Bri its funny you said that. I did drop the other 2, I try to match the first one. Bad idea they don't match, I got one on the lip, and the middle. Oh well to the scrapyard they go. LOL

Jeremy… You could always scuff up all the Cups with a scotchbrite pad. With the scratch in it, you just created some antique Cups. I notice that between the Cup and the mouth bead there is some white residue from the spinning process. I have had some Cups with that and used a toothbrush to scrub it away.

Bruce,

That white residue is from the polish from last night, I got lazy near the end. I didn't notice it until I posted the picture. So I just cleaned them the way Bri did in one of his videos, with salt and vinegar. I couldn't believe how good that works.

it's like magic isn't it! bill Palmer shared that with me, I should give credit to Bill.

Just watch out when doing combo cups because of their nature you can get liquid inside them.

The first time you damage or dent anything, you feel bad about it. But it doesn't look bad at all.

At least you dented cups that were YOUR OWN cups.
It's worse when the cups are someone elses...
I still have not made any of those Mad Jakes, though I have the tooling. There were only about 6 sets made, so you did dent a RARE cup... but it won't always be rare.

If you are lucky, the one dented cup is the chop cup and it will make it easier to identify!

Don
I just check the cup, and found that the dented cup is the chopped one. I have one suggestion if you do make the Mad Jake's. I think they would look a lot better, if you put the 3 engraved rings on each side of the bead.
