Clay… Thanks for reporting on the close-up stage. Bills method works great, I have found that a staple gun works better then glue (I use MDF for the backing board). Large mouse pads or batting (used in quilts) work great as the material beneath the pads top… you can use different amounts for the desired give or cushion.

Just finished the day before yesterday. Pad is in and everything. I love it. My table doesnt match the stand at all though but maybe that will make people tip more lol they may think i can't afford a matching stand. I am going to try to find my camera so i can post a picture.

Next time you try to build a table, go to the cups and balls museum and download the plans for the busking table. Every measurement is customized.
