The Dreaming Madman

I was looking around the old big auction site, and saw this book. I thought that some of you would like to see it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1956-RARE-1ST-EDITION-OLDEST-DECEPTION-CUPS-BALLS-/330479700348?pt=Antiquarian_Collectible&hash=item4cf220097c

Anyone have this book?

Till next time,
Sean

Okay guys, let's not get into a bidding war over this. Nobody else bids and nobody gets hurt.

Nothing to see here, move along...

I read the book in the Magic Circle Reference Library in London a couple of months ago and it was a great read.  Grin

Gatto… welcome to CupsCon and your comment about the book… it has been pretty slow around here, don’t let that scare you off.

Wasn't me. Sold for over double what I wanted to pay for it.

I didn't get it either... After seeing a copy go for $70 or so @ Martinka a couple of months ago, I couldn't justify paying nearly double for this one.

The buyer is in France. I don't think it is Etienne, though.

However, here's the good news. I had two copies. I sent one of them to Chris Wasshuber, and he is now offering it as an e-book at lybrary.com.

So you can have a copy of this book for $ 20.00.

That's not a bad deal at all.

I already have the ebook copy. There's still something to say for actual paper though, especially if it's heavy on illustrations. Nice to browse on the couch on a quiet evening when there is no computer in sight.

I agree completely. That's one reason I don't think the Kindle and the net book will replace real books.
