My first set was the plastic EZ-Magic set of Cups in the 3rd grade... in my teens I purchased a set of Aluminum Combo RNT Cups. Also in my teens, my first Chop Cup was from Tannen’s... there is a posting about it here somewhere; recently I wrote an article about it at cupsandballsmagic.com.
From there I have developed a sickness and the rest is history or a collection.
Thanks,
Bruce

You sure start early, Bruce. like Vernon used to say, I wasted 45 years of my life.
Alex visited me yesterday, and had good opportunity to befriend those cups of mine. I wanted to show you a few interesting sets of cups, but don't know how to put them in the postings.
Have a great long weekend ahead.

Francis... I wish that I still had all my early magic stuff... I am lucky that I have most of it.
I bet Alex went into overload looking at your collection... did you have to ask him to leave or did he want to camp out in front of the display case?... LOL.
As to inserting a photo... there is an icon button to assist with that when you write a post or PM (2nd icon from the top and right) or you can use the IMG code from your photobucket. I would love to see any Cup photo that you have.
You too have a great weekend... we should have nice weather so I see yard work and BBQs in my future.
Take care,
Bruce

Alex stayed from 2 to 8pm...
Okay, try this, the first two sets are the one that is interesting, one copper set I bought from a dealer in France and the other from Five of Hearts.

Francis… Pretty cool Cups; do you travel all around and discover these treasures or do you acquire most from the internet.
Well if Alexander is going to spend so much time with your Cups, I hope that you feed him… he is a poor student you know… LOL.
It looks like I need to spend some time checking out the rest of your photos.
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I did feed him with our local delights, Mee Goreng, fried spicy noodle. He is so tall he giant over me. I need a chair to access to the top shelf but he took the cups from there like they are from the table. I hope he enjoy the cups. He gave me good knowledge of local magic scenes.
I surf the nets a lot, travelled most when I was working with Dell Computer in Asia. I wish I had interest in cups then... But then again, if I worked for companies, I will never have time for any personal hobby.
I will be taking photos of more cups along the way.
Thanks for all the encouragement and and Help.

My first set was a set of Brass Magic Makers Street Cups, and I have absolutely no regrets in having bought them. They are very good cups for what they are: economical street cups.

My first set (still have them) is a Morrissey Combo set. I never really did anything with them, I just figured if I was a magician then I needed a set, plus I was at Morrissey's Magic at the time and bought them directly from Herb Morrissey.
I never did anything with cups until many years later when I learned of a much bigger world of cups that I didn't know existed. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew I was face to face with Gazzo and he had one set of Babes left in his bag and I couldn't resist.

My first set was three small red plastic cups from a magic set I got for my Christmas when I was around nine years old.
My first "real" set was a combo set in aluminium from Uday.
After that it was RNT II and the madness had set in.

I started a long time ago. I think my first cups were a set of those "Penetrating Cups" that were included in a Mysto Magic set.
When I was about 15 years old, I bought a set of P&L copper cups from Howard's Fun Shop. I didn't like them very much, though, because the load size was so small. So I bought a set of the Tannen's Stubby Cups. I sold them to a friend of mine and bought them back from him later. They are still in my collection.

Francis… Thanks for taking care of our friend… I am coming to your house, those spicy noodles sound delicious!!!
When I traveled as a sales REP, I was more into collecting magic books and old close-up magic items made of brass. I wish that I was into Cups then… I can remember many shops closing down and seeing Cups for sale at ridiculous prices.
