Lots of neat cups...

I'm only telling people about this because I'm still paying for my last set. Over at
www.martinka.com
there are several very nice sets available at low prices. Including Charlie Millers less than $100, and a set of DD PF brass currently at $200 with 2 days left. If you guys don't raise the prices, I may have to skip a car payment because I'll be forced to buy a set.

Bil Palmer has noted (and I agree, compared to my own set) that the "Millers" look a bit off. The roller marks aren't there and the little that I can see from the photos, the one mark I do see is in the wrong place. Compare that pic to the real Miller cup on our Forum header and you'll see the difference. Also the sidewalls look rather straight (cylindrical) rather than the taper usually seen.
That's not saying they're *not* Miller cups by Magic Inc. but they could be a close copy. Not Bertrams or they would have said so, and not Phoenix cups either. At around $100 they're not bad though, whatever they are.

I don't know who got those Kanter's cups, but they were actually made by Brema.
They went for almost three times the going rate.

I don't know how much longer I will be back, since Sean deleted the post that explained my side of the story when I left the last time. As long as he won't let me reply to his post, then I don't see much purpose in being on this forum.
He has locked me out of that section completely.
I may be forced to put a section about this on the Muiseum web site.
He can prevent that by deleting his post.

Gentlemen...this is a forum. We should not delete posts. If we are to continue with this forum that has promise imho, we should should exercise the freedom to post sides. Sean, I really don't care about whatever issues you and Bill have. this is not our (members) affair. I humbly suggest that if there is anything wrong with Bill's post....all you have to do is simply post your side. That is if you are worried about what the members think. Then again.... we all have read Bill's post. Deleting it would only make the members...well what's left of us... speculate and put one and one together till it sums up to eleven. I trust however that as small as we are.... we have a very intelligent lot around here. All we care about really are the cups, the balls and the wands! This is a great forum, we have some great members here and we would like to learn more from those who know this subject. That would be Bill, Al etc....
Bill, kind sir, we do enjoy your posts and we do learn a lot. If I may humbly request that you stay so that we may know more about the CB please do. Lets just talk CB shall we? IF not I don't see a reason why we are all here.
Just for those who don't know Sean... I have talk to Sean and he proved to be a great guy with a great dream. I have no bad experiences with Bill or Sean. I am very disappointed about all these deleting crap however.
For crying out loud this has been a "ghost forum" for some time. Thanks to Kent, Levity, BCS, Dave, the Pepsker and lately Bill, this forum has come back to life.
I think its high time we stop and think if we should continue.

Wow… things are getting weird here. I am sorry to hear that some are considering leaving or have left. Being a hobbyist I really appreciate the input from the workers out there. I would like to see CupsCon continue, I am doing my best to participate… yes and some of my posts seem that I am trying to hard, but I really like hearing from you all and I am hoping to get things going.
Best wishes,
Bruce

I really don't want to see anyone leave. Aren't we supposed to be working on a common goal here? With all due respect to all involved, and I do hold both Bill and Sean in the highest regard, we can't do that as long as we let our personal stuff get in the way. Keep your eyes on the prize, gentlemen. This place should be about cups and CupsCon. Conflicts will inevitably happen, but this is not really the place for political or personal agenda. Why not leave that as a private matter between those involved and leave it at that? The dream may have started in Sean's head, but we've all bought into it. So, Sean, Bill, I would respectfully ask that you're conflict be taken elsewhere and let the discussions here continue.

I left in a huff and a half. I'm a jerk. I was frustrated that the convention planning wasn't going according to my desires.
I woke up the other day and realized this is Sean's venue. His house, his rules. Plus no one noticed my absence anyway.
I did notice I've lost my nickname on the left side of the screen. That hurts! What happened to the F*ckin' Showoff, he's back and is here to claim his birthright!

No problem Kent. I would need several hands to count the number of times I've left various fori in a huff. It's easy to get bent out of shape in places like this. Just the nature of the medium I guess. You're always welcome here, you f*ckin' showoff.
