I wish that I had the money… I like the looks of tapered cups.
Thanks for sharing the link.

Take care,
Bruce

I can tell you from the first Jay Marshall auction that on items that have high interest, eBay bidding is a waste of your time. There are two places to seriously consider bidding from. One is the telephone, and the other is the auction floor.

The problem with the eBay bids is that the bid increments on eBay are not necessarily the ones the auctioneer is going to accept.

If you have ever seen a live auction, you know that the increments change as the bids increase. If an item starts at $10, the bids will go 10, 12, 15, 18. 20 or 10, 15, 20, 25, until the price reaches 100. Then it will go 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, etc. until it reaches 200. Then the bid increment increases to 25. After around 1000, it increases to 100.  If you are on eBay, the auctioneer may not wait for your new bid to show up.

Telephone bidding is much more likely to be successful.

Let me add this:

There are several cups that I am very interested in getting for the museum. If I get either of those lots that are up, I may only need one or two sets from each one, and I will gladly sell the ones I don't need off.

I'll be waiting in Manila Bill! Great to have you back. It was awfully lonely here.

SUCCESS!

I bought the two Charlie Miller sets. Very pleased. Might've been a high price, but it's fine with me--I didn't have any Millers in my collection and now I've got two, including the chrome ones. Will post pic when I get them and after I've used them for a while...

(Oh, and I got them via an eBay live auction bid.)
